Steven Emory Smith, 76, died Friday, July 24, 2020, at his home in Corydon, Indiana. He was born May 4, 1944 in Corydon, Indiana to Claude Edwin and Marguerite Freeman Smith.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, worked as a custodian for the South Central Elementary School from 1977 - 2007, was Posey Township Trustee from 2007-2018, a member of the New Amsterdam Boat Club, Annual Volunteer for Big Brothers & Sisters of Kentuckiana, a member of the Lanesville Christian Church and he loved Fishing and Gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Shawnetta Smith Cassidy, Granddaughter, Liberty Martin and younger brother, Bill Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Linda Houser Smith; Daughters, Shannon (Dennis Jr.) Martin of Bridgeport, West Virginia, Mary (Adam) Ferree of Corydon, Erika (Dustin) Campbell of Elizabeth, Son-In-Law, Duane (Beth) Cassidy; Grandchildren; Steven (Shawn) Cassidy, Nathan Cassidy, Courtney Martin, Cheyenne Martin, Cody (Hali) Ferree, Kyle (Hunter) Ferree, Brady and Waylan Campbell. Great-Grandchildren, Ethan & Levi Cassidy, Anabelle, Jax & Boone Ferree; Brother, Wade (Phyllis) Smith of Hanceville, Alabama and sister Rita Williams of Wrightsville, Georgia, and his loyal pet, Abby.
Funeral Service will be Sunday, July 26, 2020 at 6:00 PM at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Pastor Pete Baumgartle will Officiate. Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Sunday until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Due to COVID-19 only 60 people or less in the building at one time. Masks are encouraged but they are not required. No food at this time. The funeral service will be transmitted on FM 106.7 on your car radio if you wish to hear the service from outside the funeral home.
