Richard D. Tuchscherer

AUGUSTA, GA.
TUCHSCHERER, Richard D., 91, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in Thomson, GA. He was born on August 24th, 1928 in Jeffersonville, IN. He entered the U. S. Navy in 1943 at age 15, and served during WWll, Korea and Vietnam. After a distinguished Naval Career, he retired in 1972 as a Lt. Commander. He is survived by his children, Rick Tuchscherer (Joy) of Harlem, GA; Mitch Tuchscherer of Charlotte, NC; Mark Tuchscherer (Debbie) of Louisville, KY; and Lisa Agnew (Bill) of Louisville, KY, his siblings, Michael Tuchscherer (Elaine) of Corydon, IN; Carol Jean Strouth of Louisville, KY; Anna Katherine Horne of Louisville, KY, and three step-sons, Walter Lawton of Dumfries, VA; Evert Lawton of Salt Lake City, UT; and John Lawton of Kaleva, MI, over 30 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great - great Grandson. Tuchscherer was a longtime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Corydon, IN. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Donna; his brother Thomas; his sister Dorothy Frank; and his beloved daughter-in-Law Nancy Tuchscherer. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Burial will be in St. Peter's Church cemetery in Corydon, IN with full Military Honors. There will be a visitaton the same day from 11 AM until the service at 1 PM also at the funeral home in Corydon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Heartland Hospice, 153 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA. 30907.
