Obituary for Richard "Rick" M. St. Germain

Richard “Rick” M. St. Germain,
59, of Georgetown, IN passed away on January 24, 2018 at his home. If you asked him, Rick would have told you his most important role in life was being the father of his two beloved children, Jake St. Germain (Christine Seaman) and Paige St. Germain, both of Louisville, KY.
Rick was born on February 25, 1958 in Smyrna, TN the son of Joseph E. and Lilian “Daphne” Parry St. Germain. He was raised in a military family which allowed him to live all over the world including England, Japan, and various other places in the US. As a teenager, Rick attended Woonsocket High School in Woonsocket, Rhode Island where he spent a lot of time running track and cross country. He later received a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. Rick worked as an engineer at various Raytheon companies for close to 30 years.
In 2002, Rick and his family moved to the Louisville Kentucky area where he was employed by Raytheon Missile Systems. He worked to build defense weaponry for the United States Navy. He had a passion for, and was always a strong supporter of the military and veterans.
Rick lived a humble life, but was always a very generous man. He would give anything he had for those in need. In his honor, his family asks for, in lieu of flowers/food, support to be shown in a donation to his favorite charities. Rick was a life-long patron of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, (800-822-6344) as well as military foundations such as The Wounded Warrior Project, (
Rick is preceded in death by his parents.
