Leanna Evon Shewmaker Obituary (1938 - 2023)

Elizabeth, Indiana Leanna Evon Shewmaker, 85, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was born June 14, 1938 in Floyd County, Indiana, the daughter of Lewis "Bill" and Addie "Mary" Kron. She was a retired medical office receptionist and stay-at-home mom. In her spare time she was a volunteer for the American Diabetes Association and CASA in Harrison County. She was also a member of Old Capitol Church of Corydon. She deeply loved her husband Aaron of 56 years and son Tom who proceeded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Suzette Twiggs (Jim), granddaughters Dr. Taylor Twiggs Sutter (Brian) and Dr. Sydney Twiggs, several nieces and nephews, as well as many good friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, 318 E. Chestnut Street, Corydon, Indiana. Pastor Andy Hansen will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 24, 2023 and Friday, August 25, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home in Corydon. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana. A big heart felt thank you to the staff at Harrison's Crossing Health Campus in Terre Haute, Indiana for their care of Leanna.
