John Lee Bays, Sr. Obituary (1937

Corydon, Indiana John Lee Bays, Sr., 75, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY. He was born in Covington, KY on October 15, 1937 the son of Elbert L. and Gladys Dalton Bays. He was retired for the U.S. Coast Guard and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon and of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by His wife- Janice Vaughn Bays of Corydon, IN Three Sons- John L. Bays, Jr. (Lynette) of St. Louis, MO Jay P. Bays (Rebecca) of Ramsey, IN Jaime L. Bays (Paula) of Georgetown, IN One Daughter- Jolene Downs (William) of Palmyra, IN Two Sisters- Mildred 'Midge' Despain of Corydon, IN Sherry Kopp (Mike) of Cocolalla, ID Sister-In-Law- Ethel Bays of New Salisbury, IN A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon, IN. Father Rob Hankee will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1 PM to 8 PM and after 9 AM Wednesday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon. There will be a Rosary Service on Tuesday at 7:30 PM at the funeral home and there will be Military Rites at the grave. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to his church. Pallbearers will be William and Michael Downs, Denver and Jake Bays and Jonathan and Jeremy Vaughn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessi, Julie and Justin Bays, Samantha Childers, Michelle Jones, Amber and Nyc Bond, and Anthony Jones.
