Jack R. Phillips

Jack R. Phillips, 86, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN. He was born September 6, 1933 in Shepherdsville, KY the son of William L. and Estyle Reader Phillips. He was preceded in death by his parents. He worked 41 years as a maintenance supervisor at Kosmos Cement in Louisville, KY before retiring. Jack attended New Beginnings Community Church in New Albany, and was a member of Gideons International. He enjoyed RV camping, he loved family gatherings, loved to play Euchre and was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Brewer Phillips; son, Jeff Phillips (Teresa) of Scottsboro, AL; daughters, Sandy Rampley (Mike) of Bloomington, IN, Debbie Wilson (David) of Floyds Knobs, IN and Jacquelyn Pease (Jeff) of Elizabeth, IN; sister, Nancy Shaffer of Edwardsville, IN; grandchildren, Andrew Phillips, Ashley Pederson (Michael), Anna Philllips, Thomas Rampley (Briana), Katherine Rampley (Nick Cross), Amanda McMonigle (Justin), Sarah Pease (Carl Stones) and Rachel Pease; and great grandchildren, Emory Phillips, Connor and Malcolm Rampley, Drew, Kellen and Beckham McMonigle. Funeral services will be at 1 PM Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 PM to 8 PM Friday, December 13, 2019 and on Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM at Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to Gideons International.
