Charlotte "Chalkie" E. Spencer Obituary (1922

Lanesville, Indiana Charlotte E. 'Chalkie' Spencer, 89, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon, IN. She was born in Corydon, IN on December 3, 1922 the daughter of Charles E. and Mary I Gutkese Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George L. Spencer, a grandson Christopher Herthel, Four Brothers- Mart Henry, Clarence, Charles and Sonny Brown. Two Sisters- Audrey Stout and Vilaea Rowe. She is survived by Her son- George F. Spencer (Susan) of Lanesville, IN Her Daughter- Jackie Herthel (Merle R.) of Georgetown, IN One Sister- Margaret Johnson of LaFeria, Texas One Grandchild and One Great Grandchild Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN. Rev. Becky Gibbons will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Georgetown on Thursday from 12 PM to 8 PM on Thursday and after 8 AM on Friday. The family requests no floral arrangements and in lieu of flowers they would like memorial gifts be made to Tunnel Hill Christian Church.
