Preston Harper Baugh Obituary (1940 - 2022)

Elizabeth, Indiana Preston Harper Baugh, 81, left this world peacefully on Saturday, July 9, 2022. He was a Louisville native and a member of Saint Mark's United Church of Christ in New Albany. He was a longtime grocer in the Louisville community, an avid fisherman, and a lifelong supporter of the University of Louisville Cardinals. Mr. Baugh was preceded in death by his parents, Louis W. and Virginia Volk Baugh, brother, Louis M. Baugh and his grandson, Stephen Baugh. Mr. Baugh is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 60 years, Mary-Ellen Doppler Baugh; children, Kenneth Harper Baugh (Donna), Allison Walsh (Tom), and Timothy Baugh (Dawn). Also surviving Mr. Baugh are brothers, Roger Baugh (Sherry) and Ralph Baugh (Anita). Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Lauren, Hillary, Kristen, Megan, Chad, Emma, Jeffrey, Hannah, Jack, Steven, Hailey and Jaden, as well as great-granddaughter, Maeve. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Visitation will be from 12 PM until the service at 6 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to either the St. Mark's United Church of Christ Clothes Closet in New Albany or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Nashville, TN.
