Phillip S. Timberlake Obituary (1941 - 2017)

Lanesville, Indiana Phillip S. Timberlake, 76, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at his home. He was born June 20, 1941 in Harrison County, IN the son of Austin M. and Mary M. Strauss Timberlake. He began his career as a broadcaster for the former WPDF Radio in Corydon, and retired as a project manager from American Commercial Barge Line in Jeffersonville. He also retired from the Pari-Mutual Clerks Union at Churchill Downs and Keeneland. After retirement, he started his own consulting firm, Marine Resources where he inspected boats and barges for commercial barge lines. He was a faithful member of the Lanesville Lions Club, an avid fisherman and a sports enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Paul, Forrest and Donnie Timberlake. He is survived by His wife of 58 years, Sharon Pendleton Timberlake of Lanesville, IN Three daughters-Tracy Timberlake of Corydon, IN Shelly Jones (Rick) of Lantzville, B.C. Dana McCarty of Corydon, IN Five Grandchildren- Casey Schaffer, Allyson Reed (Josh), Austin Phillip Jones, Daniel McCarty and Rachel Jones. Seven Great Grandchildren- Brady, Brynlea, Branson, Kaylee, Wenonah Grace, Easton and Raynie. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church near Corydon officiated by Pastor Evangeline Anderson Rajkumar. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service. A memorial visitation will be from 12 PM to 8 PM Friday, August 4, 2017 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Honorary Pallbearers will be Casey Schaffer, Allyson Reed. Austin Jones, Daniel McCarty, Rachel Jones and Brady Babcock.
