Nancy Karen Snyder Obituary (1942

Corydon, Indiana Nancy Karen Mathes Snyder, 74, passed away Tuesday, September 06, 2016 at her home after battling cancer. God granted Nancy a remission for a six week period so she could share in a beach vacation with her grandchildren whom she cherished. Nancy was born January 23, 1942 in Corydon. She was a retired tour guide for the Corydon Capitol State Historic Site and was the recipient of the Distinguished Hoosier Award. She was a member of the Corydon Moose Lodge and Heidelberg United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Snyder; her father George F. Mathes; a brother, Donald Mathes and two sisters, Betty Ripperdan and Mary Lou Emily. She is survived by her son, Shane Snyder (Sarah) of Naperville, IL; daughter, Heather Davis (Bob) of Corydon, IN; her mother, Catheryn Reas Mathes; of Corydon and brother, Larry Mathes (Betty) of Corydon. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Reagan Davis, Oliver and Jack Snyder. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, Indiana. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM Wednesday, September 7, 2016 and Thursday from 10 AM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home in Corydon. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society.
