Martha N. Owen Obituary (1939 - 2024)

Georgetown, Indiana Martha N. Owen, 84, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at her home in Georgetown. She was born October 7, 1939, in New Albany, IN the daughter of Nolan D. and Addie E. Heinze Smith. She was a homemaker, counseled many women over the years as she was a very good listener. She was an avid fisherman and gardener, was a member of Georgetown Christian Church, was famous for her smile and known for her "funeral cookies". She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifford Owen, and her sisters, Dorothy Oakes, and Pat Butler. She is survived by her daughters, Carole Vanover (Donnie) of Georgetown, IN, Debbie Millholland (Larry) of Mifflin, IN, Cindy Youtsey (Tim) of Georgetown, IN and Peggy Wolfe (Brad) of Georgetown, IN; brother, Donald Smith of Georgetown, IN; grandchildren, Clifton Gifford (Jennifer), Nick Williams (Emily), Heather Richards (Ryan), Jonathan Vanover, Michael Vanover, Hunter Cambron (Katie), Nicole Youtsey, Mitch Williams (Alex), Shelby Youtsey, and Lance Youtsey (Elizabeth), and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN. Burial will follow in Wolfe Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 8 PM Monday, February 19, 2024, and from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM on Tuesday also at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Food Pantry at Georgetown Christian Church, 9420 IN-64, Georgetown, Indiana 47122. Pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
