Garland Abbott Sr. Obituary (1928 - 2018)

Elizabeth, Indiana Garland Abbott Sr., 89, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his home in Elizabeth, IN. He was born, March 14, 1928 in Louisville, Ky the son of Daniel and Drusie Scott Abbott. Garland served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII veteran. He worked and retired from the Ford Truck Plant. He was a member of Hornickel Post 379 of The American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife Clara Mae Abbott and daughter Karen Ruth Abbott. He is survived by four sons; Gary, David and Mike Abbott (Joan) all of Elizabeth, IN and Richard Abbott of Port Charlotte, FL; Two daughters; Paula Murphy (Pete) of Elizabeth, IN and Kathy Hecht (Robert) of New Albany, IN. 15 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. The Funeral Ceremony will be at 12 Noon, Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, IN. Visitation will begin on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11AM until 8PM and will continue on Sunday from 9AM until the Funeral Ceremony.
