Carlotta A Meriwether Obituary (1941 - 2023)

New Albany, Indiana Carlotta A. Meriwether, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN. She was born August 30, 1941, in Georgetown, IN the daughter of Lloyd L. and Melba R. Ehalt Meriwether. She was a 1960 graduate of Georgetown High School; she was a proud 40-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The New Albany Elks and was a 72 year member of Christ United Methodist Church in Georgetown. Carlotta owned and operated The Old Pike Inn, retired from Caesars of Southern Indiana, was a member of Valley View Golf Club and an avid Indiana University Fan. She loved to travel the world, and especially loved Ireland and the Irish people. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, Ronny Meriwether of New Albany; nephews, Christopher R. Meriwether (Alissa) of Louisville, KY, Keith R. Meriwether (Nancy) of Sellersburg, IN, and Kevin R. Meriwether (Pam) of Naples, FL; great nieces and nephews, Tate Meriwether, Kellie Sutton (Bailey), Hope Meriwether, Hannah Meriwether, Jack Meriwether and Nicholas Meriwether (Olivia), Brittany McCarty (Taylor), Erika Hatter (Jason) and Bree Thomas and her best friend of 55 years Carol Price of Shepherdsville, KY. Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday, October 20, 2023, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN. Pastor Elizabeth Lukemeier will officiate. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 2 PM Friday also at the funeral home in Georgetown, IN. The family suggests memorials be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
